Chasing and repoussé
This technique is an authentic craft that has changed very little over the years. Through hamering you can form a metal plate in all kinds of shapes. We'll look at some diffent working methods. And you will learn how to make some simple tools yourself in wood and brass.
We do some exercises on copper plates. Courageous students can try out a simple bracelet! Let me know beforehand, so I can provide sufficient working material.
This technique demands a very personal use of punches, hammer and steel. The damage or characteristics of your material, will always be visible in your work. Because of that, it is essential to bring your own materials. People who have sphere punches, please bring them along, but you don't need to buy any.
