Crocheting in metal

We will start this workshop by taking a look at the different metal wires you can use. We will try out the different techniques together: flat patterns, volumes and the hairpin lace.

You can use your pieces of crocheting as a part of a larger jewel design. Or you can make a jewel only by crocheting and in this way creating a 3 dimensional form. If you can already solder, you can make big hollow crocheted beads.

You can use stones or little objects as inclusions, combinations with textile are also possible. I recommend to refresh the ordinary crochet stitch before the start of the workshop.

Included:

  • brass-, copper- and binding wire
  • silver wire: 0,2 mm (5 meter) and 0,3 mm (3 meter)
  • use of the studio materials
  • instruction leaflet
  • drink and biscuit

To bring yourself:

  • crocheting needles: smallest size (0.75) and if you wish nr 2 or 3
  • one long, small knitting needle to be turned into a tool for hairpin lace
  • pencil
  • paper
  • textile wires if you wish to use this
  • semi-precious stones or little objects if you want inclusions
  • silver solder if you want to solder (hard, medium, soft)
  • an apron if you wish
