Lost wax technique: Settings and imprints

In this course you will learn two different ways to make settings for irregular stones and pearls. For the first setting we use liquid wax, for the second one we will make a mould in a plastic sheet. You can also use other materials to get an imprint, such as coins, shells,...

You can assimilate your setting in a jewel of your liking. Different kinds of wax are available to work with: cube, wire, plate and pearls. It's recommended that you already worked with wax once before.

When the jewel in wax is finished, it is cast in silver by a specialized firm, after which we have to finish it. The price of the silver is not included in the course. It depends on the seize of your piece. You can have something cast starting from 20 €. You decide how many pieces you want to make.

One big irregular pearl is included in the price. You can bring more stones and pearls yourself or purchase them in the studio.
